The Kindergarten Mother Goose Concert

This past week, our class performed the Mother Goose Concert! Each student played a different Mother Goose nursery rhyme character, and they performed the play for the entire school during two different performances. I was so proud of their performance! They all did such a great job, and, of course, they all looked adorable! This was special for me because when I attended A. E. Phillips, we did the exact same play when I was in kindergarten! I loved watching them interact with each other, and it was obvious that they loved wearing costumes and performing!
This is one of my sweet boys, Myles! He played Jack-Be-Nimble!

Warrior Dash - Jackson, MS

Wow! What a crazy few weeks it has been! I had the chance to go to Jackson, Mississippi with a group of ladies from Ruston to participate in the Mississippi Warrior Dash! Let's just say it was an amazingly fun day with so many memories! I was able to get a few pictures from before and after the race!
A "clean" picture before the race!
 Two great friends right here!
And, this would be after the race!
So muddy! But, so much fun and totally worth it!

The Joys of Spring Break

Hello, everyone! What a week it has been! Spring break is always a wonderful time of year, but this year was extra special for me! And why is this? I was lucky enough to get to go snow skiing in Park City, Utah! I went with my sister, her husband, and her husband's family! They treat me like one of their own! We had the best time, and we are already planning our trip for next year! Check out a few of the pictures we took while we were there!

Why Is Education Important?

When I begin thinking about the importance of education, I always remember my years in school as a child. I always enjoyed school because of my wonderful teachers, school culture, and the friends I made through the years. The first thing that strikes me about the importance of education is the gaining of knowledge one receives. Education gives us knowledge of the world around us and helps to develop in us a perspective on life. Education also makes us capable of interpreting things correctly. It is not just about lessons in textbooks; it is about life lessons. Education is a crucial ingredient in the success of children. There is a direct relationship between the education that a child receives and his or her future fulfillment in a chosen career. Education is a tool that prepares children to become wise leaders who are open to new ideas and who are open to becoming lifelong learners. One of the most important aspects of education is that is can open the minds of young children. It gives them tools that they need to become creative problem solvers. I believe that a positive experience with education for a child can help to cultivate a love of learning that will last a lifetime. As educators, it is our job to help these students gain a love for learning each and everyday.
